This position requires an awareness of Guest Comfort and is usually high on their priority list. Good fault finding skills are essential and an ability to build rapport with the Guests is integral.

The Dive Instructor requires Professional Association of Diving Instructor (PADI) Certification and must be trained in First Aid and Life Saving. Building a rapport with Guests is vital in ensuring that their Dive experiences are enjoyable.

As this position involves direct contact with the owners and guests, it is essential that the Steward (ess) is able to provide an intuitive 6 star service.

A Purser would normally be found on larger private or charter yachts and usually comes with previous yacht experience. High levels of administrative competence, organisation, booking keeping and accounting skills are required. The Purser deals with the yachts accounts and may be required to prepare regular reports for the Captain, Owner and Management Company. The purser will also often deal with clearance of the vessel in foreign ports (organising visas and passports for inspection). Administrative efficiency is vital to ensure the yacht schedule is not affected.

Often the PA is asked to arrange or achieve a variety of tasks simultaneously, where time and logistics may be against them. As a matter of routine, the PA must be able to organise and anticipate the guest’s needs and in doing so delegate the responsibilities to other department heads. Prior PA experience for this position is required. Foreign languages are an asset. (Often PA’s are employed from a proven track record as Steward/ess.)
